Folks,24 hours from now, I will willingly suspend all rational thought and plain (as opposed to plane) common sense, and embrace the ridiculous premise that a cigar-shaped, aluminum (as opposed to aluminium) cylinder, weighing in the neighborhood of 247 metric tons... can actually fly! Across the pond, that is.. i.e. the Atlantic ocean - a vast body of water filled with sharks, jellyfish, baracudas, killer whales and lots and lots of plankton. I'm only doing this to save time. Traveling the 3,465 miles (as the crow flies) by jet-ski would take way too long and I'd still have to contend with the occasional man-eating, apex predator, not to mention cylones, tsunamis, pirates, and falling space debris. And why do I do this, you ask? Why do I risk life and limb, traveling thousands of miles from the comfort of my home? Damned if I know! ;-) But my '40th Anniversary "Well, Well," Said the Rocking Chair' tour is booked solid, tickets are selling fast, and so it would seem the only reasonable course of action would be to climb into that 247 ton cylinder, plug my headphones into the seat's audio-jack and watch the latest super-hero movie 'til the sun comes up again, and we land with a unsettling bump, then taxi to the gate. And I attribute it all to a daily serving of avocado, which as Emma Williams, Waitrose Nutritionist, rightly states, '...provides healthy fats and potassium for normal blood pressure.'  Plus
stick four toothpicks in your avocado pit and balance on the rim of a
half-water-filled glass and you'll wind up with a lovely house plant!
Careful, though; the last avocado plant I grew from a tiny pit is now 6 feet tall and takes up half our bedroom. Seriously!  This is an actual picture of that avocado plant.
