DeanMail - July 29, 2017 - Dean on Radio 2 Ken Bruce 'Tracks of My Years' 9:30am every day this week - Monday thru Friday, plus upcoming Scotland gigs and The Legend of Finn McCool
dfHi Folks,

I'm writing from sunny Carcassonne, taking a short break from my annual 'Songwriting Seminar', here in the south of France. You know, just lounging around the pool, with a friendly group of talented musicians, sipping refreshing, ice-cold beverages, partaking of delicious food and talking about the art and craft of songwriting, while enjoying the idylic view of endless fields of sunflowers in full bloom... hard work, you know!

Anyway, in case anyone's interested, I wanted to let folks know that all this week - Monday thru Friday - starting this Monday, 31st July - I'll be featured as the guest artist on the Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2, describing my favorite recordings in 'The Tracks of My Years' series.

It should fun! I'll be introducing two tracks per day, all week (Mon thru Fri), and you can hear it all live on Radio 2, beginning 9:30am, starting this Monday, 31st July, or streaming via the following links:

Meanwhile, I'm having a great time in France and also looking forward to heading north, in a few days, to Scotland, for gigs in Inverness, Glasgow and Hawick (the Borders), then winding up with my annual two-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe. ORDER TICKETS

And don't forget, in addition to my regular 'grownup' gigs at the Sweet Grassmarket venues [ Aug 9 thru 20 (not 15,16) ], I hope you'll check out my latest children's musical, premiering at the Edinburgh Fringe:

'The Legend of Finn McCool
- a silly TALL tale of GIANT proportions! finn

In the same silly spirit as my previous kids musicals, 'Smelly Feet' and 'Smarty Pants', 'The Legend of Finn McCool...' is a musical fable that tells the story of how the Giant's Causeway came to be built in Northern Ireland. It's based on an ancient Irish myth about a battle of wits between an Irish Giant, Finn McCool and a Scottish Giant, Angus the Red. Finn McCool gets some needed assistance from his clever wife, Oona. Much silliness ensues!

'The Legend of Finn McCool...' will be running August 3 thru 13, 19 & 20 at 12noon, at Just the Tonic's 'Grassmarket Community Project', right on the corner of the Grassmarket.

And you can order giant tickets here: The Legend of Finn McCool - Tickets

Anyway, that's all for now. Must get back to lounging around the pool chatting about songs! ;-)

See you on the road!

Dean
