DeanMail - March, 2014 - US Gig Alert - South Street Fusion Project

Hey Folks,

According to precise meteorological terminology, as prescribed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the US National Weather Service), the weather this winter has, officially, 'sucked!'

But that hasn't deterred me one iota. I've been busy writing, scoring, rehearsing and booking dates for my 2014 tour, all while shoveling snow, chopping ice and lugging 50lbs bags of rock-salt in a mostly futile attempt to make a small dent in the arctic glacier that was once our driveway. But groundhogs never lie! (well, sometimes they do obfuscate, but hey, they're groundhogs!) Which means, Spring will come... eventually!

So, greatly heartened by the inevitability of the pending thaw, I am pleased to announce the following US Gigs in the New York / New Jersey area, where I'll be accompanied by my band, The South Street Fusion Project:

As for my good friends across the pond, I'll be announcing the UK/Ireland/France tour dates in just a few more days, so stay tuned, folks!

As the above poster says, these upcoming gigs I'll be playing with The South Street Fusion Project will include all your chart favorites like Ariel, Lydia, McDonald's Girl, etc... combined with an eclectic mix of my original jazz/rock/pop-fusion. These gigs are always great fun and I hope you'll make an effort to attend.

Please note: The gigs at The Winery all run from 10:00pm to midnight with no cover (although contributions to the band are always welcome). Reservations are highly recommended.

The upcoming gigs at The Record Collector (Bordentown, NJ), The Turning Point (Piermont, NY) and Cortlandt School of Performing Arts (Croton-on-Hudson, NY), are ticketed events that begin at 7:30pm or 8:00pm (CLICK on GIG listing for details) and as they are all small venues, you are urged to order your tickets today, this very minute, this very second... yesterday, even!

Seriously, doesn't your honey deserve an entertaining night out after all this lousy weather?

You know they do! ;-)

So, I hope you'll help support these indie musical efforts in the simplest way possible - just by showing up!  ORDER TICKETS HERE

Meanwhile, as I mentioned a moment ago, I'll be announcing my UK/Ireland/France tour dates in just a few more days, but here's the really cool thing...

In addition to the above US dates, 'll be bringing The South Street Fusion Project along with me for the first two weeks of the UK tour! My son, Sam Friedman (keyboards, harmonica), and two of his talented musician pals, Kiril Orenstein (drums) and Chris Talio (bass), will be joining me for a whole fortnight in July.

This will be the first time in more than a decade that I've toured with a band and let me tell you, these guys play damn good! Don't miss it!

So, anyway, for those of you wondering, it's been a slow, painstaking process, but the scores for the "Well, Well," Said the Rocking Chair' Songbook are almost complete. I hope to go into print production by April and should be able to ship by the beginning of May. Thanks for your patience and support! Just a little while longer and they'll be on their way.

I guess that's all for now.

If, like me, you've been suffering the arctic vortex doldrums, don't despair. Spring - and good music - is on its way.

Thanks for listening!

See you at the gigs!

All the best,

Dean
